Leadership is the key to Organizational Development. Effective elements of leadership includes the seven basic competencies of managing. They are as follows:
- self
- managing communication
- managing diversity
- managing ethics
- managing across cultures
- managing teams and
- managing change
However, effective leadership goes ahead of these competencies to include some key attributes. These are:
(1) Developing ideas and a vision;
(2) Living by values that support those ideas and that vision;
(3) Influencing others to grip those ideas, values, and vision; and
(4) Making firm decisions about people and other resources.
Leaders must be able to influence followers to moderately change something in true sense.
